What is a Naturopathic Physician?
Naturopathic Physicians (ND), on the other hand, attend a four-year, graduate-level naturopathic medical school and are educated in all of the same basic sciences as an MD. They are accredited only if they are graduates from one of the seven schools listed at www.aanmc.org They can perform minor surgeries, such as removing cysts, but do not practice major surgery. NDs are trained to utilize prescription drugs, although the emphasis of naturopathic medicine is the use of natural healing agents.
